Threshold of Laughter
My cousin, Harry, landed on the solid Land of Punjab, and drop in to say Hi. Meeting him after so long. Feels so nice. I couldn’t stop laughing on a part of conversation till now! It has been more than 15 hours, but still.
Punjab is a place where food is considered to be an elixir. Name any problem, and somebody will be there to advice some food or another. In my case, often the conflicting foods suggested for the same problem. Anyways, this was just to frame the introduction. There is a prevalent belief that goes in Punjab – If you eat soaked almonds, it makes your brain sharper. He said, “Jinne marzi badam khalo, akkal ni auni. Akkal dhe dakke khan naal hi auni a”. (Loses a lot while translating but still – Eat as many almonds as you want, but the mind or intellect gets to evolve only with experience). I would add – Experience + awareness to learn from it. The way it was told was simply hilarious. In spite of my efforts, can’t even catch 10 percent of the effect in writing.
Was thinking of one of my wonderful school teachers. She said once, “Everything has a threshold. Be it be happiness, be it be pain, be it be sensory pleasures, be it be fear, be it be greed, for that matter be it be any emotion. It rises to a peak and then drops. Today itself, there was this accumulated emotion of anger somewhere in the middle of the forehead. Hmmm! Few deep breaths and among those countable times in life when I didn’t get angry on some petty issue, I retained back equilibrium in few seconds. Feeling awesome!
Anyways! Just found one nice Picture!

Confusingly Clear!
SImply amazed @ a bunch of people in this world. Be it be the depths of flowers or birds, or ..... of Earth or pleasures of heaven, or something beyond - Wonder if anything not in their reach. Neither do I love them, nor can I hate them. But still something attracts backwards...Much more back to start.
Anyways! little aversed to Shahrukh Khan, but each peace of the song is simply awesome. Bringing both the extreme shores into that middle pavement of inner calling!

Wonder Series
Was observing this overactive mind and thinking what is it that I get attracted to?
Strength in the strong!
Power in the powerful!
Confidence in the confident!
Enthusiasm in the enthusiast!
Happiness in a child!
Skill in skillful!
Intelligence in the intelligent!
Beauty in the beautiful!
(Surely not arrogance in the arrogant. Had to include this line after my roommate enter the room in a pretty haughty mood. The increase in the fire in the mind can be felt in the words.)
In a trip to wild life safari in Bangalore, saw somebody playing with forest animals, elephants and...! Was simply surprised at the ease with which He was doing it - As if He understands what those species were saying.
Do animals also communicate? English, French, Japanese, Punjabi, Hindi, Slang or a mix of all.
Often, when small, I would watch a group of ants running & running & running to accumulate those few pieces of broken bread. I would gently touch an ant and would surprise at the way it would inform all other ants on the way, and all would start running more fast.
When was small, a picture, Maharaha made a strong impression on the mind seeing Govinda hypnotizing or talking to animals. I always wanted to have such occult power. But seeing this man do that in real life (Filmy?) was simply stupendous.
Few questions effortlessly find their place in the mind.
What does a Lion want when it roars?
What does a Shark want when it cries?
What does a bird want when it chirps?
What does a lion do when it gets old? Does it still remain the King of the Forest?
Do birds sleep at night after returning to their respective abodes?
Waht does an elephant convey when it trumpets?
How does a polar bear sleep half cycle of an year?
Wow! Simply stupendous! Read in some book life is not about getting more and more answers, but rather about turning questions into wonders.

Orange Retreat
After days and days and days of animalistic eating, when the taste buds got addicted, elasticity of the stomach cells was thoroughly challenged, and accordingly experiencing wrestling among tempestuous emotions and crackers exploding in DNA of brain cells & body, an orange was solace and retreat to my human soul. Badly ruptured life force and repeated experience didn't let me experience the joy of solacing taste buds to the hundred percent, but intellectually ( & 10 - 20 percent soulfully), I could cherish the fruit mix the whole day, when something prompted - What if the seed of creation is in the creation itself? .How come a single orange could be expecting so many orange trees inside it? How come a water melon be pregnant with so many water melons? My weird mind again! How come a single Universe be pregnant with so many other Universes! Simply amazing!

Journey of MY PAINTING
All of a sudden, my right brain has startled me. It has started to work exceptionally well. Well, thanks to meditation and my effortless efforts.
The only question I am wondering since last few days is - How come I am so lucky and blessed:)

Journey to north - east India
A picture on the way
My visit to rural and tribal schools, run by Art of Living in north – east India, was beyond words. I visited around 30 schools in West – Bengal, Assam and Tripura with our team. If I look back and ponder over how the whole journey of those last 15 days of the year 2009 had been, I would describe it as total. I could actually laugh yesterday, putting all my soul in the laughter, thinking of those days. All was there - I was happy at times, I was sad at times, I was observer at times, I was stuck with intellect at times, and I was stuck with my mind at times. But visit to each school was unique and gave me an opportunity to learn and grow. I was very excited the moment I came to know I was going to visit the schools. Mind slipped easily to go to its trip of imagination (in whatever little time was available) and I was putting all my effort to bring it back to the present moment. I could somehow control my excitement. However, things were different from my imagination, consisting of moments that moved me, touched me, upset me, made me happy and made me sad as well. The whole journey was not very smooth. It was rough at many times but that added more beauty to the trip. The word I can recall to describe the whole trip, is, COMPLETE. It was total in itself.
People in some of the places, we visited, were facing real difficult situations like flood, terror, no water and no electricity but that neither let their smile go away nor stop them to celebrate. School children, and at some places parents and teachers, participated with full heart and celebrated with us without any good reason to celebrate. The zeal and enthusiasm of people was moving and encouraging. To add to this was the beauty of places, consisting of hills and green thick forests, esp. in Tripura and Assam. I could feel expansion in consciousness at times and those were the times I experienced peace within myself.
The visit, including the day I caught train to visit all these schools, was one of the most learning experiences of my life so far. It brought about more peace, patience, acceptance of the present moment and more stability in me. Along with this, one thing I learned was, ‘one doesn’t need to be very resourceful or in perfect living conditions of survival to celebrate life and feel happy. When one connects with people and things around, celebration happens’. I still feel the trip hasn’t ended.

Perfect being imperfect
I drew a sketch and colored it with water colors. It didn’t come out to be great. As a child, I was pathetic in drawing (I don’t mean I have grown up now), but now it has improved considerably. I felt very bad looking at the outcome. But then something sprouted in the mind and made me all the way happier. Why do I expect myself to be great and perfect in everything? Here lies the problem. However, imperfection forms a part of perfection. Perfection is total and how can something be beyond the scope of totality? I have some imperfections and that’s what makes me perfect. Universe has imperfections and hence it is so perfect inside. And then I realized IMPERFECTION IS A PART OF AND A PATH TO PERFECTION.
Few months later: By the way, my painting has improved considerably.

The Empty Jar And 2 Cups of Coffee

One of my friends sent this to me followed by a wonderful inspiration to share it on the blog. Enjoy reading:)
When things in your life seem, Almost too much to handle, When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the story of the empty jar and 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students, If the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.
He then asked The students again If the jar was full..
They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'
The professor then produced Two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents Into the jar, effectively
Filling the Empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.
'Now,' said the professor, As the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that This jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions – things that if everything else was lost
and only they remained, Your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter Like your job, house, and car.
The sand is everything else -- The small stuff.
'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
So...
Pay attention to the things That are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.
There will always be time
To clean the house and fix the disposal.
'Take care of the golf balls first -- The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked'.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a cup of coffee with a friend.'
