Wonder Series

Was observing this overactive mind and thinking what is it that I get attracted to?
Strength in the strong!
Power in the powerful!
Confidence in the confident!
Enthusiasm in the enthusiast!
Happiness in a child!
Skill in skillful!
Intelligence in the intelligent!
Beauty in the beautiful!
(Surely not arrogance in the arrogant. Had to include this line after my roommate enter the room in a pretty haughty mood. The increase in the fire in the mind can be felt in the words.)

In a trip to wild life safari in Bangalore, saw somebody playing with forest animals, elephants and...! Was simply surprised at the ease with which He was doing it - As if He understands what those species were saying.

Do animals also communicate? English, French, Japanese, Punjabi, Hindi, Slang or a mix of all.
Often, when small, I would watch a group of ants running & running & running to accumulate those few pieces of broken bread. I would gently touch an ant and would surprise at the way it would inform all other ants on the way, and all would start running more fast.

When was small, a picture, Maharaha made a strong impression on the mind seeing Govinda hypnotizing or talking to animals. I always wanted to have such occult power. But seeing this man do that in real life (Filmy?) was simply stupendous.

Few questions effortlessly find their place in the mind.

What does a Lion want when it roars?
What does a Shark want when it cries?
What does a bird want when it chirps?
What does a lion do when it gets old? Does it still remain the King of the Forest?
Do birds sleep at night after returning to their respective abodes?
Waht does an elephant convey when it trumpets?
How does a polar bear sleep half cycle of an year?
Wow! Simply stupendous! Read in some book life is not about getting more and more answers, but rather about turning questions into wonders.

Orange Retreat

After days and days and days of animalistic eating, when the taste buds got addicted, elasticity of the stomach cells was thoroughly challenged, and accordingly experiencing wrestling among tempestuous emotions and crackers exploding in DNA of brain cells & body, an orange was solace and retreat to my human soul. Badly ruptured life force and repeated experience didn't let me experience the joy of solacing taste buds to the hundred percent, but intellectually ( & 10 - 20 percent soulfully), I could cherish the fruit mix the whole day, when something prompted - What if the seed of creation is in the creation itself? .How come a single orange could be expecting so many orange trees inside it? How come a water melon be pregnant with so many water melons? My weird mind again! How come a single Universe be pregnant with so many other Universes! Simply amazing!

The actual real story I read in a wonderful book

Once upon a time in a city which did not exist, there were three princes who were brave and happy. Of them two were unborn and the third had not been conceived. Unfortunately all their relatives died. The princes left their native city to go elsewhere. Very soon, unable to bear the heat of the sun, they fell into a swoon. Their feet were burnt by hot sand. The tips of grass pierced them. They reached the shade of three trees, of which two did not exist and the third had not even been planted. After resting there for some time and eating the fruits of those trees, they proceeded further.

They reached the banks of three rivers; of them two were dry and in the third there was no water. The princes had a refreshing bath and quenched thirst in them. They then reached a huge city which was about to be built. Entering it, they found three palaces of exceeding beauty. Of them two had not been built at all, and the third had no walls. They entered the palaces and found three golden plates; two of them had been broken into two and third had been pulverized.  They took hold of one which had been pulverized. They took ninety – nine minus one hundred grams of rice and cooked it. They then invited three holy men to be their guests; of them two had no body and the third had no mouth. After these holy men had eaten the food, the three princes partook of the rest of the food cooked.  They were greatly pleased. Thus they lived in that city for a long, long time in peace and joy.

Science and wonder

Nature doesn’t stop to wonder me. So does science. I encountered a beautiful fact while reading ‘The Da Vinci Code’ – about phi. It states despite of having mathematical origin the number, equivalent to 1.618, is fundamental building block in nature. The book gives so many examples which boggle the mind. Some of the examples stated were:

The ratio of number of female bees by the number of male bees in any beehive in the world is phi.

Sun flower seeds grow in opposing spirals; the ratio of each rotation’s diameter to the next is phi.

Measure the distance from the tip of your head to the floor. Then divide that by the distance from your belly button to the floor ; guess what number you get! (Well, I did and I was surprised.)

And so many other examples…

At every step nature strives to take us back into that state of wonder we were born with. I could again come back to that state and I recall Wonder is the only way.

Wonder - the only Way

I was caught up in the mind,
The only wish was to leave everything behind,
When a voice comes and says,
Wonder is the only way.

I was stuck in the ‘Why’,
So stupid was I,
When a voice comes and says,
Wonder is the only way.

I wanted to run away,
From nothing outside but my own way,
When a voice comes and says,
Wonder is the only way.

I was stuck in the pain inflicted on this I,
Pain it was to fight with the Why,
When a voice comes and says,
Wonder is the only way.

I was caught up in that voice,
Confused from where comes that ray,
When a voice comes and says,
Wonder is the only way.

I embraced all that was coming my way,
And I wonder all that refused to stay.
